Magazine (‘A phenomenon waiting to happen’) and Distorted Sound (‘arena-worthy hooks… hellacious screams… gloriously heavy guitars’). unpeople have been nominated for two Heavy Music Awards in 2025 - Best Breakthrough Live Artist and Best UK Breakthrough Artist, having also received a nomination 2024. The root of the band's cause is in the name - unpeople - meaning a group of people considered to be politically unimportant or of no value.
