During the frigid Canadian winter in late 2022, a monolith appeared in the form of Dying Remains. A four piece with a propensity for creating menacing and brutish death metal in the spirit of the genre’s forefathers, Jungle Rot, Asphyx and Morta Skuld.
Without wasting anytime, the band released their debut EP, Entombed in Putrefaction” though Maggot Stomp, and began lumbering their way back and forth across the Canadian frontier honing their chops and playing shows and festivals with the likes of Defeated Sanity, Sanguisugabogg, 200 Stab Wounds, Gatekeeper, Creeping Death, Pig Destroyer and others.
2025 is the year Calgary, Alberta’s Dying Remains, now a trio (Damon MacDonald, Dimitri La Rose & Scott Oliphant) drops their debut LP on the world. “Merciless Suffering” (Maggot Stomp) is a 10 track behemoth intent on plowing its way through the rest of the death metal landscape.
