Oriska "Self Titled" EP

Sequestered away in the Central/Northern US city of Fargo, Oriska has been working hard. With pedigrees that include some of the finest in screamo, punk and doom, they've put together an official collective of musicians from around the states to create some of the most emotive and expansive post-metal that you're likely to feast upon.

Oriska is a blackened post-metal collective headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota with members dispersed across California, Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. Featuring ex-members of Battlefields (Init Records, Translation Loss), Dispensing of False Halos & Sleeping in Gethsemane (Init Records), Oriska draws influence from their past outfits while crafting a unique blend of doom, post-metal and screamo into songs that are both sprawling and epic.

Since the release of their first demos, the band has already garnered a reputation for their cathartic live performances filled with world-ending emotion and cinematic soundcapes. The members of Oriska are no strangers to the road and have already covered a lot of miles in support of their new music.

We are honored to welcome Oriska into the fold here at Mind Over Matter and to get to partner with Init Records to bring their debut LP to life! The second vinyl pressing has two variants, one of which is only available via Init Records. These records come housed in a gatefold jacket and the artwork is completed by the band's logo being screen printed directly onto the poly sleeve. The artwork was far too beautiful and we wanted to keep it as intact as we possibly could! Plus, it's that little pop of flair that you've come to expect from a Mind Over Matter release.
