XIAO is a hardcore band from Stockholm, Sweden, formed in 2019. Their sound combines the ferocity of powerviolence with the urgency of modern hardcore, creating a chaotic yet deliberate style.

The band’s debut EP, PAIN (2021), sold out two tape pressings before getting a vinyl release in 2022. They followed it with the BURN EP (2023), which has seen three vinyl pressings to date. XIAO has toured Europe extensively, playing festivals like Ieper Fest and Alive & Well, and building a reputation for relentless live performances.

XIAO’s debut full-length, CONTROL, is set for release on Twelve Gauge Records on May 2nd, 2025. Recorded by Jörgen “Jugglo” Wall and mixed by Ben Jones (Pest Control), the album features guest appearances from Lifecrusher, Entry, Blood Sermon, and others, adding new dimensions to their sound. CONTROL tackles the rise of right-wing politics in the West and other pressing global issues, delivering their most politically charged and ambitious work to date.
