LP - Rootbeer
Here is what Evan (Storm Chasers/Into It. Over It) has to say on this record;
Let's get one thing straight..
There is no Storm Chasers LTD, no Into It. Over It., no The Progress.. There is nothing I have ever done creatively without this band. At least not in the way that I have done it.
UUDDLRLRBAS was that band. OUR band. They were the collection of people that developed the scene in South New Jersey which was responsible for fostering and mentoring so many colleagues. We learned from them. Recorded with them. They wrote the template and taught us that if we wanted something, that we had (and have) the tools at our disposal to earn it, develop it, create it.
They embodied DIY and were the forefathers to indie emo scene in Jersey / Philadelphia from 1999 until the later aughts when they finally decided to call it quits.
The record I have wanted to press since SCLTD started was this one. I am overjoyed to announce Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start's And Nothing Is #1 and Perris, CA on a single LP.
UUDDLRLRBAS exists within three distinct eras. This LP represents the middle one and maybe the most formidable UUDD era. We have a collection which spans the lineup of the band from 2001 until 2004. This includes the LP "And Nothing Is #1" and the immediate followup EP "Perris, CA".
Tricky, well recorded, angular and strange. Like the name implies. They were way ahead of their time. Their sound, specifically, has been imitated and refined in the years since by countless bands. COUNTLESS bands. A secret handshake for those in the scene, especially in the northeast.
This is the original. A must own for any emo fan. You'll love this record if you haven't heard it.
