In a bold move to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album, LOCAL H are proud to release reFISTED, a complete re-recording of their 1995 classic, Ham Fisted. This isn't just a re-issue; it's a defiant do-over. Founder / frontman Scott Lucas describes the original album as a "fistfight with myself at 24 years old" and decided to take on the challenging process of revisiting and reimagining songs written three decades ago. The band treated the re-recording like a demo, sometimes radically reworking and rearranging tracks, and other times aiming to produce even meaner, heavier versions of the originals. reFISTED was recorded and mixed with Greg Norman (Russian Circles, Neurosis, Kim Deal, Andrew Bird) at Steve Albini’s legendary studio, Electrical Audio, a conscious decision by Lucas to recast the record as an early '90s Touch & Go release.

To bring new life to these songs, Lucas brought in a host of collaborators representing the band's entire history and a fresh wave of talent. reFISTED features guest appearances from past bandmates and musicians Lucas has worked with in other projects, including Eric Oblander (Five Horse Johnson, Clutch) and Max Crawford (Poi Dog Pondering). The album also introduces "new blood" like Deanna Belos of Sincere Engineer and the members of Tuff Sudz, ensuring the record feels both nostalgic and vital.
